Preschool at CLPAK
At Calvary, we want to see your child succeed and grow - just as you do. Our preschool program employs visual, auditory and kinesthetic means to show children the love of learning!
Children must be 2.5 years old (and independent in the bathroom) to register.
Our preschool curriculum is built around teacher and child-initiated activities: free play, Bible lessons, movement, table time, outdoor play, circle time, chapel, snack and story time.
Free play – Students choose from various play areas and activities including music, books, dress-up and many more. We have a play area or activity that every child will enjoy!
Bible lessons – We teach the story of salvation (Jesus’ birth, His life, His death and His resurrection) through Bible lessons. Students practice remembering and reciting passages and singing as a group.
Movement – Stretching, muscle movement and dancing.
Table time – Art projects, science experiments, puzzles, and more fill this structured time. Students learn how to properly handle scissors, pencils and glue; they practice basic motor skills that are useful in everyday life.
Outdoor play – Fresh air is amazing for children! Students spend time on the playground every day with multiple opportunities to swing, slide, ride bikes/scooters, play with sports equipment, fill/dump out buckets and/or whatever else their imaginations hold!
Circle time – Students become familiar with the months of the year and days of the week. They also practice counting to 30 (and beyond!), sing favorite songs and use building toys.
Chapel – Students practice lining up quietly and walking as a group to Calvary's chapel where they participate in a 3-minute devotion with Pastor Herrmann.
Snack time - Learning opportunities for independence and social development are everywhere - even during snack!
Story time – Students gather to hear engaging picture books read by a teacher or volunteer.
